What game got you into RTS?

There must have been a game you played first that made you a fan of RTS. I once saw a colleague play ‘the battle for middle earth II’ at his place. I am a Lord of the Rings fan, so I liked the similar themes and thought I will try out the game genre then.

What game got you into RTS?

If I remember correctly, I think the first RTS video game I played was Imperivm, and then I continued with Imperivm 2 and Imperivm 3, after this saga I continued with Warcraft and consecutively with Starcraft, but the first was Imperivm.

Warhammer 40, 000: Dawn of War II (2009) made me begin playing rts games. The nice and immersive atmosphere makes the game a great one. From there, I began playing other games in the genre.

I can't really recall the first RTS game I played. But I can vividly remember my experience while playing Universe at War. I had fun playing the 3 different factions of the game, in general I really enjoyed it. That game shifted my attention to the RTS games.

My first RTS was Command and Conquer: Red Alert. I was drawn to the alternative history storyline and never looked back.

Pretty sure it was warhammer as well, though you tend to forget which one after awhile lol.
