Both Sins of a Solar Empire and Distant Worlds are great real time space strategy game which gamers have to engage in a large-scale space empire management, real time combat, control vast fleets, manage planets, and diplomatic meetings.

If you're to choose which one of them is a better real time space strategy game, would it be Sins of a Solar Empire or Distant Worlds? What will be the reason for your choice?

I prefer games that can be played on a massive scale, and Distant Worlds gave me that satisfaction. The potential to explore and dominate vast galaxies in games is so underated to me.
I've got nothing on Sins of a Solar Empire, but I'm going with Distant Worlds any time, any day.

Well, I have not played Sins of a Solar Empire so I cannot say anything about this game. Well, I don't play Distant Worlds too frequently but based on my personal experience, I think 4X grand strategy in Distant Worlds make it quite interesting game. The best thing about this game is deep simulation.

Unfortunately, I will find it very difficult to choose between both of the games because I kinda enjoyed both of them. There was another standalone expansion to Sins of a Solar Empire which is "Rebellion", it was a very good entry to the game.
