Tough choice? I bet it’s difficult to narrow down to just three.
My favourite game of all time is the 1994 classic space combat sim TIE Fighter. I played this on DOS initially and then on Win 95. I remember getting it on floppy disk first and then on CD-ROM. I’ve played it again recently (last couple of years is recent at my age) and it still holds up. Would love a remaster.
Next is Rome Total War. My first strategy games were Red Alert, Total Annihilation, Dark Reign and Total War: Medieval. Released in 2004, Rome: Total War revolutionised the TW franchise and strategy games in general. It’s considered by many to be the greatest game of all time.
The final choice is a difficult one. There have been so many brilliant games in my life it’s tough to narrow it down. This first computer game I remember playing was Harrier Attack, 35 or so years ago. Sonic the Hedgehog on the Megadrive, Mario Kart on the SNES, Red Alert, the original Tekken (Tekken 2 was far superior), Doom, Quake, too many to mention. GTA! Wow. I remember playing top-down GTA as a demo on PC. Really showing my age. But my final choice is Supreme Commander. Not Forged Alliance, but the original supcom. Sheer brilliance. The scope, the scale, it was bigger and better than anything which came before it.
If you could only pick just three games. Which would you pick?
