Some questions are bugging me. It's about diplomacy in RTS. Some players argued that diplomacy is the best while some believed that it's not the best approach and that the strategy game should be more of power and military mights.

Do you agree or disagree? Tell me your opinion on this.

For me, diplomacy provides some extra tactics and it helps in improving the gameplay a lot. I think it's time for RTS games to move from the level of senseless fighting and embrace diplomacy.

It's a no because the RTS games are not political, they are mainly designed for warfare. Involving politics in games makes it longer than expected and can take one out of the experience. I want more of the military strategy.

Diplomacy has its place in grand strategy or 4X games. RTS games should be about blowing shit up.

As far as I am concerned, diplomacy is a good strategy. It can help you buy more time to strengthen your military might. Diplomacy is not about compromise, it is a kind of military strategy.

Do you knowof any RTS games were there is diplomacy beyond non-aggression pacts in MP?

Yes, it's very important to have diplomacy feature added in RTS games. When there's an option for war, there should be an option for diplomatic missions to stop a war.

Diplomacy is one of the most important strategies in real time strategy games. Diplomacy is not just about retreat, it is an essential strategy to win the war.

I'll ask again: Do you know of any RTS games were there is diplomacy beyond non-aggression pacts in MP?

No. I might use diplomacy to buy myself some time, but I cannot rely on it as a reliable strategy when trying to come out on top.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is an example of such RTS games where diplomacy beyond non-aggression pacts in gameplay. In the game, you can go into forming a complete alliances to restore peace, engage in trade deals, and conduct embargoes for your advantage.

Thanks for that, @spongebob, I never considered there would be anything other than very basic diplomacy. But then I suppose Sins ain't a very basuic game.

I believe players should have the right to choose if they want to go for diplomacy or any other strategies. This is what makes RTS games a lot more fun.
