I think so, yes. At least in the initial release. You have to remember this is a small - very small - development team. Perhaps there will be a campaign created once the base game is released.
The life of this type of game is in its multiplayer. People will play the campaign through once and then battle there mates. It’s right that mp is the main focus.
It is a shame that we may not be getting a campaign in the beginning but it is understandable being how small the development team is that is working on the game.
Also with the hype for the game already without any release date announcement, they will more than likely want to work on the PVP mode so they have something to release when they are ready and possibly work on a campaign at a later date.
Most RTS players play single player over multi player. It is rare for a game to be released without the option to be played by oneself. Sanctuary: Shattered Sun has a small (but extremely talented and dedicated) dev team but the single player experience is a high priority. It’s inclusion depends upon the success of the Kickstarter:
The team are confident that the Kickstarter will be successful. As you say, there is already hype surrounding a game without any playable material. It’s our job as a community to push and ‘sell’ Sanctuary: Shattered Sun to a wider audience.
