This is a major escalation from Iran and we'll have to see what the Israeli response will be.

  • Iran has launched nearly 200 missiles into Israel tonight, with sirens sounding across the country - including major cities like Jerusalem;
  • The order to launch came from Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, with an official warning Tehran was "fully ready for any retaliation" from Israel;
  • Iran claims 80% of missiles hit their targets, but the Israeli Defence Forces said they are "not aware" of any injuries and people have been advised they can now leave their shelters;
  • Israel employed its famous Iron Dome defence system to shoot down missiles and also had help from US military forces in the region, after the White House ordered them to intervene.
What do you make of all this? I read that Israel has begun a "limited ground incursion into Israel." Is this Iran's response?
 
I believe there were only a few deaths but lots of destruction, I hope somehow the situation doesn't get any worse.
