How might the sanctuary be built?

From what materials was it made? Where did this material come from? It would take a lot of material to create an artificial planet.

Lore suggests it was the resources from the entire solar systems other than Earth and our Moon which were used to build the sphere. The classic Dyson Sphere idea is a sphere with a diameter of 1 AU, so that it effectively encompasses the entire orbit of Earth. In Sanctuary, this diameter is much smaller with the sphere a lot closer to the surface of the sun. I don't think the exact size has been confirmed but anticipate a surface area in the trillions of kilometres.

This is something I had not looked into yet so this is something I am just learning today.

That is quite cool that Lore is built up using resources from the solar system aside from as you mentioned, those from the Earth and our Moon.

I can only imagine just how much material would be needed to create an artificial planet but I am always amazed at how they are able to do it and how good it looks as well!

I wonder if anyone has actually ever calculated whether there is enough mass in the solar system to create a Dyson Sphere? When you think about it, 99% of the solar system is just empty space. And you can't create something from nothing. It's the first law of thermodynamics.

Besides resources from all the planets and meteors, people in game have starlifting technology, so they can actualy grab matter from the sun itself and fuse it to get needed materials, but it is a slow process

Looking at our present time, several moons of various planets would be good to live on, if only they were habitable minus them being solid and not gaseous.

Anyway, I wonder how much mass would be needed to create a floating New York City. I mean, you can fit 8 million or so people in it.
