How Do I Stop Turtling in RTS Games?

I’m a little good at RTS games, but when I play, I'm too defensive. I try to build a strong base and then hide. I’m always afraid to attack. I have the feeling that I will be defeated if I attack.

Does anyone have tips to help me stop being scared?

I have seen a lot of players turtle. I’ll advise you to start small with attacks. You can start attacking one enemy unit per game. Then, look at the whole map and see what's really happening. This would give you insight on when to attack. You shouldn't be afraid to lose some units in the process, it's part of the game. And with practice, you’ll get better.

My advice to you is to watch videos of expert players. Then, learn how they attack and defend as well. Also, you can attack quickly and then retreat. The most important thing is to learn from your mistakes and don't give up. With time, you'll become a pro gamer.
