If I didn't know any better I'd say this looks like a rail gun. Very smart.

These definitely look like they're rail guns for sure! I can imagine they probably have a decent range of fire too, needless to say the Guard can do some good damage with these from afar.

My understanding is that rail guns shoot in a straight line. Artillery is frequently indirect fire. This is unlikely to be a rail gun despite appearances.
