Best RTG game to play with friends

I am looking for a simple RTS like Rusted Warfare, but I want one with better multiplayer controls. I am looking for a balanced game that is also a good choice to play with friends over the weekend and when I have some free time. I can be a classic game because that is what we love.

Any suggestions?

Age of Empires IV is what I'm going to recommend. The game's multiplayer mode allows for you to play against AI, or playing competitively in a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 matches with your friends.

You can play either Starcraft: Remastered or Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection. Both of them are great and iconic RTS games which you will enjoy the multiplayer mode so much with your friends.
