Age of Empires: good for beginner RTS gamers?

It is one of the most popular RTS game series. A lot of people are into this game and consider it one of the best RTS games ever released, but if you are a newbie, is it too hard or maybe a perfect fit? What's your opinion?

I think Age of Empires is one of the hardest RTS games, therefore, it might not be appropriate for beginners. Interestingly, the first RTS game I ever played was Age of Empires II.

I wouldn't particularly recommend Age of Empires for anyone new to RTS games. However, it still depends on the individual capabilities. I believe that no matter how hard a game might seem, if you keep playing consistently, you get better at it.
